Trip High School will open in time for the 2022-2023 school year. However, this may change. Journey High School is a 170,000-square-foot building located next to the Madison City Hall offices on Celtic Drive. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in March 2021.
Madison City Schools Superintendent Ed Nichols said administrators tracked the middle school's progress from start to finish. Transfers and withdrawals for rising 7th and 8th graders are on hold until officials are better informed about their graduation status.
"Student benefit sheets were sent home last week, with an increase in 7th and 8th graders for the 2022-2023 school year," Superintendent Nichols said. "They were going to be returned. It was canceled before January 21st. The process has stopped for now. The size of the campus of Columbia University is 36 acres.
