Psu Academic Calendar Spring 2023 – Penn State launched a survey seeking student feedback on the desktop version of Penn State Go, a comprehensive mobile application.
This survey appears to be the next step in the development of the desktop version, originally planned for release in spring 2020, according to the Penn State Go website, the desktop version is still rolling out.

"As Penn State Go continues to evolve and improve based on student feedback, the Penn State Go Desktop Experience is under development, with the goal of bringing together additional key features students will need in one place. Online convenience," the post reads . An open-ended survey presented a prototype of the desktop version and asked simple questions about its design and potential features. There are two different research links, one for University Park and Commonwealth Campus students and one for World Campus students.
Penn State Go launched on mobile devices in January. The app streamlines a variety of student resources in one place, including LionPATH, Canvas and Office 365. It recently expanded to Commonwealth campuses in May, but the desktop version is not yet available to students.
Since most students don't watch Canvas during the summer, it's hard to imagine that the survey would get the most statistically significant responses if that were the only method of distribution. After nearly two hours of discussion between board members and the public regarding the school calendar for the 2022-2023 school year, the State College Board of Trustees made a decision at its January meeting.
Supervisor Bob O'Donnell submitted the calendar and election data, including information from the county calendar board. In the presented calendar, the first day of school is August 22, 2022, and the last day is June 2, 2023.
The school will be closed on August 26, 2022. This day, Friday, is an important day for students who exhibit animals at the Central District Agricultural Fair. Last August — the first day of school was Aug. 24 — attendance records held by SCASD showed 27 students absent from school due to fairs. Being a fair exhibitor is considered an "educational trip," so students are free to catch up on work they've missed these days.

However, several members of the community made public comments to urge the council to start learning after the Grange Fair, which is scheduled for August 19-27.

LeDon Young, who has served on the Grange Fair board for 26 years, said the SCASD calendar is "a moving target."
"We've been dealing with State College for a while. In 2014, we moved the Grange Fair from the Thursday before Labor Day and ended two weeks before the date the State College District wanted to start on the Tuesday before Labor Day. You are a moving target. There is no way we can change the date of the fair," Young said.
A local business had a "summer savings" petition that people could sign asking management to reconsider the start date. It collected nearly 90 signatures in three days, said Jason Cooperativey, owner of Way Fruit Farm. He recommended that management move the opening date up to a week before Labor Day, as other local school districts have done. Otherwise, he suggested that you don't leave school on Monday or Friday of the first week because of breeding and selling at the fair.

In 2023 there may be four overlapping school days with the Grange in the future, but in 2024 and 2025 it appears that there will be no overlap.
