Sfsu 2023 Calendar – Scholarships: The aim and purpose of this award (and the creation of the summer internship) is to promote diversity in the civil/construction industries and to support students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds in their studies. In addition, the award is designed to support students who seek opportunities to gain experience in the community sector over the summer and can use the award to pay for their education.

The Latinos in Technology Scholarship is created by the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley, a public fund dedicated to promoting public philanthropy and attracting people to invest in the educational success and leadership development of the growing Latinx community. In Silicon Valley. The program will provide up to 100 Latino students with the support they need to succeed in college. In addition, scholarship recipients will be considered for summer internships with sponsored business investors. By implementing this program in Silicon Valley, HFSV will be able to directly address the regional education gap among Latinos, and begin to close the diversity gap in high-tech jobs.

The California State University Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (CSU-LSAMP) is a comprehensive CSU student assistance program funded by the National Science Foundation and the CSU Chancellor's Office. As a career preparation program, LSAMP's goals at SFSU are to 1) increase the number of students who complete science, technology, and mathematics (STEM) courses, with an emphasis on those who face or face social, educational, or economic barriers to your career. and 2) providing resources to make these students more competitive candidates for STEM doctoral programs. Research Grant*: LSAMP participants conducting research with SFSU STEM faculty members may receive a grant to assist with research activities and to attend scientific conferences.
Professional Training *: LSAMP participants can participate in a series of workshops focused on developing skills that will better prepare you for a career in research. Workshops focus on topics such as communicating your science to a diverse audience, developing presentation skills, learning to read scientific literature, where all interested scientists will thrive. COVID-19 To prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community, we are offering informational meetings and other workshops remotely. Counseling is primarily remote and available on Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. Until 4 pm and Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 pm only. Study abroad is accepted in many countries as of Fall 2021. We look forward to sending more students abroad in Spring 2023!
