Edinburg Cisd Calendar 2023 – Rosaura R. Miranda is a pharmacist for the Edinburgh School District. In 1990, he received his high school diploma from Edinburg High School. He attributes his love of math to two women who made math challenging and fun: Ms. Hermelinda Cano and Ms. Martha Ochoa, both of EHS.

In 1996, he obtained a bachelor's degree in secondary mathematics from UTPA. In 2019, he obtained a master's degree in Mathematics Curriculum and Education from UTRGV.

She has worked in ECISD for 24 years and taught at Memorial Middle School, South Middle School and BL Middle School. She currently teaches: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and Geometry.

B.L. Garza High School is named after Baldemar Lino Garza. The school was inaugurated on November 20, 1999. Born in Mercedes, Texas, Mr. Garza was the first of ten children. He died on October 4, 1975 at Edinburg General Hospital. His father, Leoncio S. Garza, was a pharmacist and businessman in Mercedes, Texas in the early 1900s. His mother, Nellie Chapa Garza, was born in Penitas, Texas, and was a fourth-generation Texan.

After graduating from Mercedes High School in 1937, B.L. and his family moved to Edinburgh, where his father opened Garza's Pharmacy. BL he joined the United States Navy in 1941 and served until 1947. During this time, he worked his way up from hospital to Chief Pharmacist while serving in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Pacific.

In 1952 the G.I. Bill received his pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, he became the owner of Garza Pharmacy in Edinburgh. He joined the Texas Pharmaceutical Association in 1952 and was a charter member of the Rio Grande Valley Pharmaceutical Association. His dedication and dedication to his work earned him recognition as the RGV Association's Pharmacist of the Year in 1967 and Texas Pharmacist of the Year in 1968.

Among his many services to the community, B.L. He was chairman of the board of directors of Edinburg Municipal Hospital, a member of the board of directors of the Edinburg and Rio Grande Valley Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Board of Education of the Edinburg High School Distributive Education and Vocational Board. In 1966, he was recognized for his efforts on behalf of the youth of the community and became an honorary member of the Distributive Education Clubs of America. BL he believed that community participation made everyone a better place to live.

BL married Margaret Saeta Garza. She is survived by her husband, three children; Adriana Saeta Garza, Carlos B.L. Garza (Sharon) and Teresa Garza Vina (Robert), eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A full and generous life ended with the death of Elias Sr. from Edinburgh

Who died on August 7, 2006 at the age of 75. Elias Sr. was born on April 26, 1931 in La Reforma. He graduated from Edinburg High School in 1950, where he excelled both academically and athletically. He earned a scholarship to attend Pan American College and played on the baseball team before dropping out of school to serve his country. A veteran of the Korean War, he served as a member of the U.S.S. Navy 1951-1955.

For nearly a decade, including Spain's first president. His administration was known for its efforts to ensure fair recruitment and was instrumental in the inauguration of Puerto Rico's first president. In addition, he volunteered for over 20 years as a coach for local youth baseball teams. After his honorable retirement from the Southern Pacific Railroad, Mr. continued his career on the Edinburg Housing Authority Complaints Committee and as a member of the Hildalgo County Grand Jury. He was also a staunch member of the El Buen Pastor Methodist Church. A devoted husband and father, Isa shared nearly 50 years with his wife, Maruca Garza. Their union was blessed with four children: Elias Jr., Luis, Letician Lankford and Victor. Elias was a man known for his great sense of responsibility and humility in the face of many duties and will be remembered with great love by all who loved him.

Resolution in his memory at the regular session of the 80th Texas Legislature that the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas Legislature pays tribute to the life of Elias Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to the members of his family: his wife, Maruca; to his children, Elias Jr. and his wife Laurie, Luis and his wife Noelia, Victora and his wife Kristy, and Leticia Lankford and her husband Gary; his grandchildren Philip, Aaron, Julia, Jon Eli, Adam, Gram, Gray, Marco, Amanda, Chad, Isabella, and Abigail; to his sisters Rosa Elena March, Elma Vela and Lidia Gordon; and to his other relatives and many friends. A certified copy of this resolution was prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns today, it will do so in memory of Elias Sr.
