The annual KCC Music Week event will kick off a week of KCC activities – during which KCC will open select music classes free to the public – and as all KCC Music Weeks are free and open to the public.

Case-Blanchard closes the video with a rendition of "Hold On" from the beloved spiritual, "Keep Your Hand on the Hunt, Hold On."

The video prompted Harrigan to begin exploring the music community's response options, resulting in the "Hold Up!" Designed as an attempt to express the black experience through performance. Harrigan said the audience response has been the most positive response we've had to any Battle Creek Symphony performance.

"This community forum is a continuation of the important discussion we started at the Cafe Rica Community Forum in November 2021 and the strong response we received at the concert last March," Harrigan said. "We hope this event will be one of many opportunities to share ideas and thoughts in the fight against racism."

The forum will overlap with a parallel KCC Music Week open house with KCC music faculty, which will also be held at the Davidson Center. Light refreshments will be served after the forum.

Battle Creek, August 22, 2022 – Kellogg Community College's Country Community Band is accepting new members for its 2022-23 concert season and will host an open house for new members prior to the band's first rehearsal in September.
