SAN ANTONIO – The May 7 election featured two statewide bids, several city and school bond issues and several mayoral and city council races.
The two largest bond funds on the ballot – $1.2 billion for the city of San Antonio and $992 million for Northside ISD – were approved by voters.
In Bekar district, 91,656 votes were cast, or 7.6% of the 1.2 million registered voters. That includes 47,866 early in-person votes, 17,936 mail-in ballots and 25,854 on Election Day.

San Antonio city voters on Saturday passed the city's biggest policy, including a first-ever affordable housing initiative.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg declared victory at 10 p.m. for six proposals in the $1.2 billion bond fund. At that time, each of the proposals, A to F, had between 59.9% and 72.4% approval.

Another constitutional amendment would increase the housing allowance from $25,000 to $40,000. The proposal would save homeowners an average of $176 on their property tax bill, the Texas Tribune reported.
Both amendments received bipartisan support from the Texas Legislature and are expected to pass because property taxes have become a major concern for homeowners whose property values have risen in recent years. In the Beccar region, home prices increased by 28%.
