Vcu Calendar Spring 2023 – TowneBank, Children's Hospital of Richmond and the Children's Hospital Foundation at VCU have teamed up to celebrate TowneBank's $250,000 grant for the new Wonder Tower at CHoR, set to open in spring 2023.
The Children's Hospital Foundation accepted the donation, bringing the total amount donated to Wonder to $500,000. The fund matched $25 million in community donations as part of an investment campaign to raise $100 million of its $400 million budget. .

The impressive building is the new home of CHoR's inpatient, emergency and trauma services, including the region's only pediatric trauma center #1. In return for their donation, TownBank will receive naming rights to the new emergency room.

A new emergency room is part of the renovation plans. While continuing to provide the same innovative technology and patient care offered at CHoR today, in a safe environment to support children and families – it will provide up to 33% more capacity to care for the increased patient population. .
Patient exam rooms will be nearly double in size, allowing children, families, siblings and caregivers to connect more effectively.
