City Tech 2023 Calendar
City Tech 2023 Calendar – As in previous years, the school year begins with a half-day on the Monday before Labor Day, which this year falls on August 29.
Breaks for students include a four-day weekend over Labor Day, Election Day in November, and Wednesday through Friday for Thanksgiving. The holiday break is unusually late this year. When Christmas falls on Sunday, the first day of school is December 26, and the holidays run until January 6, 2023.
City Tech 2023 Calendar
Students Martin Luther King Jr. day in January, a four-day weekend in February, during the break and the first week in April. Easter is April 9, 2023, the Sunday at the end of Spring Break. Schools will also be closed next year for Eid al-Adha on April 20 and 21, 2023.
School Board Approves 2022 2023 Academic Calendar
The district calendar is developed through negotiations with the Dear Federation of Teachers (DFT). All changes to an already approved calendar must be reviewed by the DFT and then approved by the Board of Education.
The district's calendar must also meet state requirements for the number of hours and hours students are in school. It is also influenced by the Wayne RESA team calendar.
The 2022-23 calendar is posted on the district's website and can be accessed at dearbornschools.org/calendars. An online calendar is available, and visitors can scroll to the bottom of the page for printable versions of the calendar. Parents are contacted by their school about important events and activities not on the district calendar.
