The Mid-Atlantic Regional Commission, operating as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), is recognized by the US Secretary of Education for accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education. Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, including distance learning and correspondence programs. The Commission is a voluntary, non-governmental organization.
COCA is recognized by the US Department of Education as an accreditor of osteopathic medical colleges. COCA accreditation means that a college meets or exceeds the standards of the Commission on Quality Education.

ERAS is the agency that sends applications, Letters of Offer (LoR), Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs), medical school transcripts, USMLE transcripts, COMLEX transcripts, and other supporting documents to residency program directors.
ERAS consists of five parts: the Recruiter Website (called MyERAS), the Office of the Dean of Workstation (PDWS), the Program Director of Workstation (PDWS), the Letter of Offer Portal (LoR Portal) and the ERAS Post Office (PO).
ERAS opens in June and can be accessed through the AAMC website. A MyERAS reference number must be entered first. College of Osteopathic Medicine students will be sent a number in June (between second and third year) to access their personal information page and LoR portal. When the system launches in June (year four), students can log into MyERAS using any web browser and get started.

The Office of Student Administration/Housing and Nursing Services is responsible for approving documentation for the ERAS application (Medical Student Performance Evaluation/MSPE, College of Osteopathic Medicine). Once received, supporting documents from the student application are scanned and transferred to the ERAS post office. Mobile applications can corrupt this data by connecting to the ERAS mailbox using the application's task manager. What we did last year with the dean of curriculum was to align our curriculum with best practices, so we have two tracks—a doctor/patient continuum with a traditional academic-based and problem-based curriculum, and a second. is part of our entire student population, so we have two different styles. Another thing we are looking at is a DO/PhD program. We have a very rich and diverse research program on our New York and Jonesboro campuses, and we hope to continue to offer this program next year.
