Oak Ridge Schools Calendar 2023-2024 – The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school calendars at its regular meeting on Dec. 17.
Citizens had the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the potential calendars earlier this year. An academic calendar committee of parents, teachers and administrators reviews the results and makes a final recommendation to administrators.
Oak Ridge Schools Calendar 2023-2024
As in recent years, two days of business minutes are added to each calendar to allow for school closings due to conditions such as inclement weather. Professional development days and holidays are also included in each calendar and are revised based on regional feedback to align with different religious holidays that represent a diverse region, such as:

A two-week winter break is built into each calendar to provide families with additional travel days during the holiday season, and students return the first week of January for the spring semester.

Superior Public Schools
As in previous years, two days of business minutes are accumulated within each calendar to allow for school closings due to inclement weather. Gilbert Public Schools will officially transition to a new school calendar beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. The new calendar means students and staff have two weeks off for fall, winter and spring breaks. The governing body officially adopted the new calendar in February 2021 after a survey showed that GPS families and employees supported the changes.
The school year begins eight calendar days before the current school year, with the first full day of classes beginning on July 26, 2022. Starting early ensures that students are given more opportunities for enrichment programs and educational intervention when needed. Teachers in our schools will continue to receive professional development training as per previous school calendars. Although fall and spring breaks have been extended, careful consideration has been taken to ensure there is no disruption to the learning environment.
School Calendar / 2022 2023 School Calendar
Gilbert Public Schools will operate on the same schedule as neighboring districts, including Chandler USD, Higley USD and Queen Creek USD. GPS students and staff will continue to be off duty Wednesday through the Thanksgiving holiday, as well as the short spring break weekend. The holidays make it easier for families to prioritize spending time together and plan trips. For families concerned about child care needs, Gilbert Public Schools offers enrichment programs, youth sports and recreation camps for your consideration.
At the elementary level, there are plans for the beginning of the school year, when summer temperatures can become a serious problem for outdoor sports on certain days. If there are days where there is a summer tip, GPS Elementary students will be included and board games, videos and other activities will be provided to keep them entertained during recess. Schools decide on appropriate activities based on the needs of their students.
The new school calendar means GPS junior varsity sports will go to four seasons, allowing each school to add boys volleyball to the list of sports teams. Boys and girls soccer in seventh and eighth grade will also be expanded. With the junior high season now nine weeks long, including the playoffs, some changes are expected in the game schedule. Opportunities to promote player development will also be provided by Gilbert Youth Athletics. The 2022-2023 junior high sports program is now available online. GPS athletes and families with questions about the impact of the calendar on youth sports can contact the school's athletic director. The Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) will continue to oversee and administer sports at GPS high schools.
Douglas Unified School District 27 Calendar 2023/2024
The new calendar changes will also take effect from the 2023-2024 school year. The first full school day of this school year will be July 25, 2023.
